The volume can be adjusted. It is great for in the shower & outside by the pool. Not only is it waterproof but it's also sand proof, dust proof and shock proof. It is made of silicon and metal. With the card reader you don't need to have your phone to use it... just store your music on the memory card! With the card reader you can store about 1000 songs!!! I love that it comes with the USB wall outlet because most only come with the cord and you end up having to use your phone wall outlet.
